I met the talented young Ana in NYC at the ICFF Design Show. No doubt she will continue to impress us with her artisan skill creating beautiful vessels that merge the beauty of mayan culture & innovations of the modern world.

The beautifully handcrafted Crema Maya marble Criollo is a stunning and unique statement piece. A modern and sophisticated design that pays homages to the designer’s Mayan heritage, culture and mythology.

Ana Corkidi is rooted in and inspired by Yucatan culture and the beauty of Mexico. Ana Corkidi seeks to achieve a balance between tradition and innovation, while always maintaining strong ties to Mexico’s cultural heritage. Ana Corkidi collaborates with master Mexican artisans, to reimagine utilitarian and decorative objects through thoughtful aesthetic that honors the hands that make them. These collaborations are nurtured by research, conversation and experimentation. Using craft techniques inherited from generations, timeless design pieces based on a rich ancestral culture are created.

The Pok Ta Pok Collection takes its name from and is inspired by the ancient Mayan ball game. All pieces are handcrafted from Crema Maya marble and natural henequen fiber, both endemic to the Yucatan Peninsula - an homage to Ana Corkidi’s Mayan roots. The collection is not only beautiful but also serves as a conversation starter - inviting individuals to discover and appreciate Mayan culture and the artistic legacy of Yucatan artisans. Each piece becomes a tangible link between the past and the present, a timeless testament to the enduring cultural heritage of Mexico.

The Criollo Collection speaks of two important elements in Mayan culture - corn and its guardians the aluxes. In ancient times, these beings were represented in clay and were worshipped for protection. The Criollo Collection reinterprets this tradition and pays tribute to the corn, a pivotal element in Mayan culture and mythology. Each piece is freehand carved by master artisan, Abraham Tzab - a testament to the high level of traditional and technical skill.
