In Sampler, paired rectangles come together, introducing a distinctive weave as they overlap. This dynamic design is inspired by samplers that were used to learn and demonstrate darning: a sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric by replicating the structure of the original material. Dating back to at least the 18th century, these samplers typically covered small pieces of cloth in darning "blocks" of various weave structures in a variety of colors—especially blue, green, red, and yellow yarns—to make intricacies visible and show the weaver's skill.

With lively yet refined rows of interlocking concentric circles, Overshot is a contemporary interpretation of traditional textiles. It is named for a weave structure with a long history and a distinctive construction: as the weft yarn jumps or "shoots" over the foundational plain weave of the warp yarns, a decorative pattern layer is created.   This design takes inspiration from vintage American coverlets. Used as the topmost covering on a bed and distinct from quilts, these woven textiles were especially popular during the early to midnineteenth century. The earliest examples were made with an overshot weave, and this craft continues today.

Developed with an eye to the robust textures and expansive scales of the natural world, Mesa is a modern interpretation of basketry: the ancient craft of making interwoven objects. Subtle changes within the weave create a multifaceted surface that unites graphic lines, veiling shapes, and richly textured edges that form a soft-edged frame.

To develop this exclusive print, our design team began by photographing stems of baby's breath. As single blooms began to fall, inspiration unfolded. Arranging the organic forms into a grid gave the blossoms a newly modern character. The original photographs were enlarged slightly to reveal texture and detail when viewed up close. From afar, the precisely placed flowers blur into colorful dots.

Like pressing the petals of a flower into a book, these placemats are designed to be cherished for years to come. To clean, simply wipe with a damp sponge/cloth or rinse under the sink. Stubborn stains may be removed by scrubbing with a soft-bristle brush and a bleach-based cleanser.
