About the Artist
Meet Amanda Hummes, a Brazilian-born artist whose ceramic work explores the organic, ever-evolving nature of clay. With a focus on coil and slab techniques, Amanda creates both functional and geometric forms. The coil method, in particular, offers a more intimate connection with the material, allowing her to listen and respond to its natural flow.
Amanda’s process is intuitive—starting with sketches and evolving through direct interaction with the clay. “It’s about bringing the idea into the studio and letting the material speak for itself,” she shares.
